Why Didn’t You Come For Us?
When I was a kid I used to wonder why no one from the mama land ever came for us. I was taught about How Africa invented sailing and math. I learned about the power of Hannibal, the majesty of Kemet, & the Pride of Egypt. So when I learned about criminals sailing to Africa and taking my ancestors in chains I just couldn’t understand why Africa didn’t unify and come get us.
As I got older I realized that Mama Africa was under attack herself. My cousins history, culture, and resources were being pillaged. Some of our brothers and sisters sold out to have an easier life but most didn’t have a chance.
Let’s take this opportunity to heal. Let’s unify now. Let’s invite our advocates to unify and let’s destroy the hate that caused all of these problems. And going forward, let’s never forget to retrieve our brothers and sisters that have been lost and taken and let’s heal.
